The Accidental Taxidermist

On an outing with my mother and grandson early January 2023, I was offered 2 brace of pheasant.  At this time people were feeling anxious about bird flu so these beautiful birds had been hanging for some time.  So I won’t go into the discussion about diet etc because I’ve been every shade of the diet and regime charts, plus the politics of them.  I am now grateful for all I receive and listening to my body’s requirements when it comes to diet.  So I graciously accepted these beautiful birds.

So giving thanks for them, I learned how to carry out conscious  taxidermy on the parts.  I dried them for months and then set about creating channelled art work and forming them into medicine tools for shamanic and holy work.  These now take part in ceremonies and healing work when the atmosphere or the person is smudged – cleansed with the smoke of sage or Palo Santo.

What does an accidental taxidermist use?

I use natural taxidermistCornish semi-precious stones I find on my travels to adorn the creation and set the wings into local driftwood or pieces I find on my travels, as well as  and other treasures I’m gifted.
