“It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then” Alice in Wonderland

I met Diana Quick, I can’t quite remember when, but it must have been around 2016 in this lifetime, and I have know her for lifetimes. I was in a cycle of revelation and healing, still running my very busy fitness company at that time.  I was a hard working single mum, a woman of integrity and love, but very broken and in need of lots more healing. I was called to help Di with her mobility and started to go to her house weekly in order to train her. She had helped so many people become a different person.

Our training sessions were held in her beautiful lounge which was adorned with all kinds of unfamiliar books and cards, sacred objects and paintings.  It was all very spiritual and I didn’t really understand it at that point.  My religious passage through conventional church had steered me clear of witches and wolves, fairies and dragons, contacting spirit and intuitive callings!!

However, Di’s inimitable way with people had me unfolding with her at every meeting, she introduced me to the power of Reiki healing, and very soon became my master teacher.  I learned so much with her about my origins, my ability to know things by just touching an object or looking at a person, how I was able to heal people across the other side of the world and had never met.  How I could see where they needed help, even if their body was asking for help first.  She showed me how to read cards and contact spirit.  She introduced me to the concept of Spirit guides.  I know I had Jesus with me always, but began to realise that there was so much more available to me to help my healing walk and that of others. She opened my eyes.  She loved me and she healed a lot in me.  Her family became mine and I was always welcome in her home.

I became a different person

She introduced me to Reiki, and she made sure I took time to learn properly.  She insisted I do a 3 year apprenticeship, she wanted me to really embody each stage before I was strong enough to move to the next level.  There was no rushing around or half measures with my beautiful friend. This type of energy can not be rushed, it has to grow.  And grow it did.

And then one day it was my turn.  Di was really unwell and for the first time in 2021 she accepted healing for herself from me with another Reiki master.  She had a complicated medical history, but it was all catching her up.  Although I was unable to heal this beautiful lady, I know that I was able to help her transition from this life happily into the next.  The ways she had taught me and I had grown into were able to support my beautiful Reiki Master as she prepared her body, soul and spirit to cross over to a realm she knew really well. I was able to go to her in her last days and drum, use sound therapy, touch, prayer and loving words to soothe my best friends mind and soul as she worked out the last of her earthly questions, transmitted her messages to me and finally, with a smile on her face she allowed her physical body to rest in peace.  I was so proud of her and I am a different person because of her.  I learned of her passing 2 days after my last visit.  I was in the Forest of Deane and I jumped out of my van with my Shaman’s drum, and headed into the forest.  I was lead to a spot where a feather was standing upright in the ground under a huge mighty oak.  I knew this was from Di and this is where I was to honour her.  So I drummed my heart out to her just down from St Anthony’s Well, thanking her and telling her how very proud of her I am.

Her family invited me to her Life Celebration where they asked me to lead  a ceremony on the beach with drumming, songs and blessings, and a fire some of her ashes were added to.  Everyone came forward with a word to put into the fire for our beautiful mamma, sister, daughter, lover, friend, Diana…. my original Rainbow Warrior to whom I owe so very much.

My life is a better place for having know this incredible woman.
